It is hard to imagine a more perfect way to spend a Sunday. Our journeys today brought us back to the presence of God.
We began our morning at Beit She'an National Park. It is the excavated site of an ancient Greek and Roman city that is mentioned in I Samuel 31.
At the Mount of Beatitudes we visited a beautiful Franciscan church surrounded by fragrant gardens. Our group walked down the mountain while Betty Ann Buckley read scriptures from Matthew 13. Sitting by the sea, we had devotions where Jesus fed the five thousand. This was a special event for all of us.
In the afternoon we went to Capernaum which became the headquarters of Jesus' ministry. Here we saw a synagogue and the modern church built over Simon Peter's mother-in-law's house.
After seeing a replica of a "Jesus Boat", we boarded a larger version and sailed across the Sea of Galilee. LuAnn Charlton led us in worship as we sang, read scripture, prayed and danced our way across the sea. What a great group of people with which to share this experience!
